Hospice Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in this very rewarding volunteer opportunity. The families that receive these services are deeply grateful for the compassionate assistance that our volunteers provide. Hospice Volunteers are supportive of the hospice concept, comfortable with their own individual spirituality and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity.  Each volunteer is required to complete the hospice’s volunteer training and orientation program.  Previous volunteer experience may be helpful.  It is important to be able to work within an interdisciplinary group.

Volunteer services include:

• Preparing Meals

• Reading to the patient

• Helping write letters

• Listening/emotional support

• Simple household tasks

• Relieving the caregiver for short periods
